Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge Bird Walk
December 2 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am
Enjoy the sights and sounds of migrating geese, ducks and other birds on this free expert-guided bird walk at the gateway to the Columbia Gorge Scenic Area.
An easy 10-mile drive from Vancouver, Steigerwald Lake offers historic riverine flood plain habitat, semi-permanent wetlands, cottonwood-dominated riparian corridors, pastures, and stands of Oregon white oak, as well as great views of the Columbia River.
We’ll meet at the Vancouver Backyard Bird Shop (8101 NE Parkway Dr., Vancouver) at 8 a.m. Advance reservations are required—we limit the number of participants to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and educational experience. Our walks do fill, so phone the shop (360-253-5771) to reserve your spot as soon as you can! Dress for the weather and, please, no pets.
