KGW and Audubon Society of Portland have teamed to bring us a "raptor cam" for the 3rd nesting season in a row. A pair of Red-Tailed Hawks have built a nest on the fire escape of a downtown building, and an unobtrusive video camera is capturing their daytime lives and streaming it to computer screens across the city.
Bob Sallinger, the Conservation Director for Audubon Society of Portland, installed the remote-controlled camera in place early enough this year for Portlanders to see the parents brood three eggs, and then to watch two of three eggs hatch (April 14 - 15). Tune in to see completely uncensored footage of the Red-Tailed Hawk family (meals are gory!) at http://www.kgw.com/raptorcam/?nvid=226982&live=yes
