I think I Have Grain Moths

Question: I think that I have grain moths! What can I do?

Grain moths can find their way into your home in seed bags or in uncooked grain products like flour and cereal.  You may notice the moths themselves, or their webbing, neither of which is harmful to the seed or the birds.  Although they’re not the type that chew holes in clothing, grain moths aren’t welcome in our homes!  They can colonize a cabinet containing cereals, baked goods or flour.

Two simple steps can prevent an infestation:
1. Store all birdseed outside your home in metal or heavy plastic containers.
2. If you see grain moths inside, place up to 3 Birdseed Moth Traps in the affected area.  Birdseed Moth Traps attract male moths with female moth pheromones, and then trap them, breaking the cycle of reproduction.
