We so appreciate Rick, who has allowed us to use some of his gorgeous bird photographs on this website!
Photographer Profile: Rick Brumble
Rick’s interest in photography began in high school where he studied composition, developing, and printing. He obtained his first camera and lens in 1975 while serving in the US Air Force, and soon became interested in military air shows and Nebraska sunsets. Several years ago, he transitioned to digital photography and continued self-study of composition and technique. He is a long-time Backyard Bird Shop customer, so some of his backyard bird photographs include products purchased from our shops.
His most memorable project was the documentation of a Habitat for Humanity build in Hillsboro, OR. Schmap Guides recently selected one of his photographs of the Portland Japanese Garden, and several are featured on the Hillsboro International Air Show website. His favorite subjects now are feathered and man-made birds, and landscapes. He maintains a page on Rick Brumble’s Flickr Site, and looks forward to several photo travel trips each year. Rick and his wife Trina live in Hillsboro.
