Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden Bird Walk
December 12 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am
Amidst the thousands of rhododendrons on the seven-acre Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, a jewel of a lake hosts wintering waterfowl. Take a free expert-guided bird walk with naturalist, Elaine Murphy, to seek ducks, mergansers, herons, and kingfishers.
Stroll the pathways, and enjoy the tranquility of this scenic setting while you spy the waterfowl that winter on the spring-fed Crystal Springs Lake. We’ll meet at the parking lot at 8:00 a.m, and then carpool to the start of the walk. The walk will last 2 – 3 hours. Advance reservations are required—we limit the number of participants to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and educational experience. Some of our walks do fill up, so phone the shop (503-445-2699) to reserve your spot as soon as you can! Dress for the weather! And, please, no pets!
NOTE! We also now require all participants to wear masks and to adhere to social distancing during the walk. Children age 7 and older may participate when registered with an adult.
