Mary S. Young Bird Walk
July 23 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am
Join naturalist Elaine Murphy and the hosting Backyard Bird Shop in West Linn Central Village for a free tour of this Oregon State Park. The peaceful forested trails and the brushy area along the river offer a variety of songbirds and other forest species such as woodpeckers. From the bank of the Willamette River we’ll watch for osprey, bald eagles, cormorants and other water birds. We’ll also check the sandy river bank for tracks of great blue herons, beavers, raccoons, and other birds and animals.
Please register in advance (our walks do fill up) by phoning the West Linn shop at 503-445-2699, press 4.
Masks are optional.
We’ll meet at the parking lot at the trailhead across from the dog park at 8 a.m.
Advance reservations are required—we limit the number of participants to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and educational experience. Dress for the weather, and please, no pets!
